(Rockville, MD) - To help Montgomery County residents make informed decisions about the local candidates running for county and state offices in the general election, Access Montgomery will air CANDIDATES FORUM 2008 on AMTV 21 during the two weeks prior to the November 4 General Election.
The Representative to U.S. Congress Candidates Forum will air Thursday, October 23 at 10:30 PM and the Board of Education Candidates Forum will air Thursday, October 23 at 11:30 PM. Both programs will also air again at various times, prior to the November 4 General Elections, on AMTV 21.

A signature service of AMTV since 1986, CANDIDATES FORUM gives viewers a unique opportunity to hear from the wide choices of candidates who appear on the Montgomery County ballot, not just the most popular.
CANDIDATES FORUM 2008 is a series of unedited four minute statements by candidates that make their own presentation and abide by the same rules.
This approach assures a level playing field among all candidates and is provided at no cost.
"These forums help Montgomery County residents know where the candidates stand on issues important to them," said Richard Turner, Executive Director, Montgomery Community Television, Inc.. "It is important that all voices in an election are heard and providing this opportunity to the community contributes to residents being informed voters."
Access Montgomery, a service of Montgomery Community Television, Inc., is the countys only independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing residents with diverse programming, television production, and training resources. Access Montgomery has successfully educated, informed, and entertained county viewers for over 20 years, training more than 4,000 county residents in its television production workshops.
