ACCESS MONTGOMERY PRESENTS MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY CELEBRATION 2009
Local Residents Honored for Their Achievements

(Rockville, MD) – With powerful musical and dance performances Access Montgomery presents MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY CELEBRATION 2009 in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This two-hour program is a celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.’s life achievements and pays tribute to the outstanding achievements of local Montgomery County residents.

Hosted by J.C. Hayward, WUSA Channel 9 News, the MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY CELEBRATION 2009 features Howard University Choir performing a moving Negro Spiritual and “work song” that captures the mood of black history and culture. Other performers include  the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra; Unity Choir of Victory Christian Church; pianist and soloist Joshua Summerville, NAACP-ACTSO Gold Medalist; Zemer Chai: The Jewish Community Choir; Georgene Fountain, Soloist, People’s Baptist Community Church; and the CityDance Ensemble.

Access Montgomery, a service of Montgomery Community Television, Inc., is the County’s only independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing residents with diverse programming, television production, and training resources. Access Montgomery has successfully educated, informed, and entertained county viewers for over 20 years, training more than 4,000 county residents in its television production workshops.
